Club Almagro is an Argentine football club from the homonymous district of Buenos Aires. The team currently plays in the Primera B Metropolitana, the regionalised third division of the Argentine football league system.

Almagro was founded on January 6, 1911, in the Almagro neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. The club still has its sports facilities there for its members, but the football stadium (with a capacity of 19,000) is located in José Ingenieros, in the Tres de Febrero Partido of Greater Buenos Aires.

Almagro played one year in first division in 1938 after winning the first second division tournament that awarded a promotion. Later the team won the 1968 second division tournament, but had to participate in the Reclasificatorio tournament with first division teams and other second division teams and didn’t win promotion. The Tricolores played most of the time in second division, a few years in third division, but in 2000 and 2004 they won the promotion to first division, only to be relegated both times after only one season playing at the top level.

The Argentina national football team (Spanish: Selección de fútbol de Argentina) represents Argentina in association football and is controlled by the Argentine Football Association (AFA), the governing body for football in Argentina. Argentina’s home stadium is Estadio Antonio Vespucio Liberti and their head coach is Alejandro Sabella. The team is currently fourth in the FIFA World Rankings.

La Selección (national team), also known as the Albicelestes (sky blue and whites), has appeared in four World Cup finals, including the first final in 1930, which they lost 4–2 to Uruguay. Argentina won in their next final in 1978, beating the Netherlands 3–1. Argentina, led by Diego Maradona won again in 1986, a 3–2 victory over West Germany. Their most recent World Cup final was in 1990, which they lost 1–0 to Germany by a much disputed penalty. Argentina’s World Cup winning managers are César Luis Menotti in 1978, and Carlos Bilardo in 1986.

Argentina has been very successful in the Copa América, winning it fourteen times and also winning the ‘extra’ South American Championships in 1941, 1945 and 1946. The team also won the FIFA Confederations Cup and the Kirin Cup, both in 1992, and an Argentine team (with only three players of over 23 years of age included in the squad) won the Olympics football tournaments in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.

Argentina and France are the only two national teams that have won the three most important men’s titles recognized by FIFA: the World Cup, the Confederations Cup, and the Olympic tournament. They have both also won their respective continental championship (Copa América for Argentina, and UEFA European Football Championship for France).

Club Atlético Aldosivi (usually referred simply as Aldosivi) is an Argentine football club based in the city of Mar del Plata. The institution was founded on March 29, 1913, and plays in the second division of the Argentine football league system, the Primera B Nacional. The club’s name comes from the first two letters of the last name of their founders, Allard, Doulfus, Sillard, and Wiriott (the w was changed to a v because there was no W available to telegraph the official announcement).

In 1979, Aldosivi merged with two other clubs from Mar del Plata and was known by the name Defensores del Puerto until 1981 when it returned to the traditional name, which it still uses today.

Club Atlético All Boys is an Argentine sports club based in Floresta, Buenos Aires. The institution is mostly known by its football team, which currently plays at the Primera División, the top division of Argentine football league system.

The name “All Boys” reflected the youthfulness of its founders, and followed the Argentine tradition of naming football clubs in English, such as Newell’s Old Boys, Boca Juniors, River Plate and Racing Club had done before.

In 1914 All Boys registered to Argentine Football Association and began to play at “División Intermedia” (current Second Division) qualifying to play the Copa Competencia. The team promoted to Primera División in 1922, making its debut in the top division on 11 March 1923, against Temperley, which won the match by 1–0. The first official goal in Primera was scored against Porteño in a game that ended 1–1. All Boys won its first game in Primera in the 3rd fixture, when the “Albo” beat Progresista by 3–1.

All Boys disaffiliated from the Association in 1926 but the team returned to Segunda División one year later when both associations merged into one. In 1931 All Boys promoted by second time, remaining in Primera until 1934 when the Amateur Association joined Professional league and all its teams were relegated.
In 1945 the team went down to the second division for the first time, but next year All Boys won the Tercera de Ascenso championship after defeating Justo José de Urquiza 2–1. That season All Boys played 24 matches and scored 91 goals.
In 1950 there was a restructuring in Argentine football that sent many teams to the lower division, alleging that those institutions had their stadiums in poor conditions to host the Primera División matches. One of those teams relegated was All Boys. The following year All Boys won its second championship with a victory over Tiro Federal which brought “The Albo” back to Primera.

Atlético Tucumán logo vector

Club Atlético Tucumán (mostly known as Atlético Tucumán) is an Argentine based in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán of Tucumán Province. Although several sports are practised at the club, Atlético is mostly known for its football team, which currently plays in the Primera B Nacional, the second division of the Argentine football league system.

The club was founded in 1902, which makes Atlético the oldest football club from the province of Tucumán.

Atlético has participated in nine seasons in the Primera division: eight seasons between 1973 and 1981, and a single season in 1984. The team’s best ever performance in Primera División was on 1979, when reached the semi-finals of the Torneo Nacional.

In 2008 Atlético Tucumán promoted to the Argentine 2nd Division after defeating Racing de Córdoba in the final game of Torneo Argentino A, and one year later the squad achieved its 2nd consecutive promotion by winning the B Nacional tournament and reaching the Primera División.
