Sociedade Esportiva do Gama logo

Gama is a Brazilian football team from Gama, in Distrito Federal, founded on November 15, 1975.

Gama greatest rival is Brasiliense.

Their home stadium is the Bezerrão stadium, capacity 25,000. They play in green shirts, white shorts and green socks.

The club was founded by a group of sportsmen. They wanted a professional football team to represent the city of Gama in Campeonato Brasiliense. On November 15, 1975, the club was founded.

The Golden Age of the club was in the 1990s, when Gama won six state championships, and won Campeonato Brasileiro Second Division.

In 1999, Wagner Marques, president of the club at the time, guided by numerologists, changed the team name to “Gamma” (with two letters “m”, instead of one). The supporters disliked this change. In 2002, the club was relegated to the Second Division of Campeonato Brasileiro, and in 2003 the name “Gama” was restored.
